Shaheed Darshan Singh Pheruman was a freedom fighter, Sikh activist, and politician from Amritsar, Punjab. Born on August 1, 1885, in the village of Pheruman, he dedicated his life to serving his country and his faith. The title Shaheed (martyr) was bestowed upon him posthumously for his fast-unto-death in 1969.
