The Tibetan Homes Foundation was established in 1962 with the vision of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, born from a profound sense of compassion and a commitment to protecting the future of Tibetan children displaced by the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959. In the face of immense adversity, His Holiness envisioned a sanctuary where these vulnerable children could find not only physical shelter and sustenance, but also the means to preserve their cultural identity and build fulfilling lives.
